Latest Admission Policy
Debden Park High School is an oversubscribed secondary school. The school’s PAN is 180 per year group. If your child is applying for a place at Debden Park, either as a new year 7 student in September, or a mid-year admission please , please read our Admissions policy:
Admissions to Debden Park High School for mid-year application are dealt with directly by the school and you need to contact Mrs P Phillips to request an application form on email@example.com or 02084181214.
Admissions to the school for a new secondary school place at the beginning of yr 7 should still be dealt with via Essex County Council and the usual admission process.
Admissions Policy In the event of oversubscription places will be allocated using the following criteria in the order given:
1. Looked After Children and previously looked after children (see definition on page 14);
2. children living in the priority admission area* with a sibling‡ attending the school at the time of application and admission;
3. other children living in the priority admission area*;
4. children living outside the priority admission area* with a sibling‡ attending the school at the time of application and admission;
5. remaining applications.
In the event of oversubscription within any of the above criteria, priority will be determined by straight line distance from home to school, those living closest being given highest priority. Straight line distances are calculated by the LA
xceptional medical circumstances (supported by medical evidence) may override the above (other than Looked After Children and previously looked after children). ‡ LA sibling definition applies (see page 14). * A map of the priority admission area is available from the school.
