Springboard to Sixth Form Tuesday 26th & Wednesday 27th June 2018
As you are hopefully aware, we are hosting our Springboard to Sixth Form Days next week. Following your successful interview and having received an offer to join our Sixth Form in September, we are looking forward to you joining us for these days. The Springboard to Sixth event will form an essential part of your new life as a Debden Sixth Former, as you will take your first lessons in your chosen A-Level subjects and begin work in preparation for September. Importantly, it will also give you the chance to meet the rest of your cohort of students in Year 12 and 13, as well as to discover all the opportunities available to you outside of lessons, including completing an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), take part in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, go on our organised expeditions with World Challenge and learn about the many exciting aspects of Sixth Form life.
The days will follow a typical day in the Hive: school will begin at 8:30am on both days and Sixth Form students are expected in smart business wear. Light refreshments will be available during break and lunch, so please bring a packed lunch with you. Sixth formers are permitted to leave the school site to get food during the lunch break, unfortunately, students will not be allowed off site without written parental/carer consent so if you would like to do so, please ensure you complete the attached consent form and bring it with you next week. If you are leaving the school site at lunch, please remember that you must be back on site in time for your period Period 6 which begins promptly at 14:10.
Please can you confirm you attendance by Friday 22nd June by emailing email@example.com, or calling the Sixth Form office on 0208 418 1216.
Lastly, congratulations for completing your GCSE exams! It has no doubt been an exhausting year but it will all be worth it on results day in August
If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
We look forward to seeing you.
Mr J Simm
Director of Sixth Form
