In Art half of the students achieved this phenomenal result. Once again the progress students made is expected to be well above the national average and subjects which particularly excelled were English, Maths, Computer Science, Languages, Music and Art. .
Helen Gascoyne, Head of school, said “We are thrilled that our consistent focus on learning throughout the school and our constant academic drive have proved yet again to enable students to achieve incredible results. Our lessons are engaging, exciting and challenging and our students have enhanced life chances as a result of learning with us. This year has been particularly challenging given the fact that almost all subjects were being examined for the first time with the new specifications and there was so much uncertainty with the grade boundaries. Our students have risen to the challenge of these more difficult courses and we are extremely proud of all they have achieved.”
Christian Cavanagh, Executive Head, said “Yet again Debden Park High School has proved it’s place as a centre of excellence. We are delighted with our GCSE results, a week after our impressive A Level results. All of these results reflect the academic success of this Outstanding school. We would like to thank all of our students, staff, Governors and parents for their hard work and continued support as we build on our incredible successes this year.”
