British School’s Karting Championship
Debden Park High School took part in the British School’s Karting Championship for 2018. We entered two teams with Hayden Merritt, Robbie Davidson and Ryan Massey; and Connor King, Jake Hinton and Paul Noquet.
We were fortunate to receive sponsorship from two local Building firms, Federick Sage and Perrian Builders. This was a fantastic support for the students who took part.
In the initial heat based in Brentwood, the boys performed superbly with students taking part for the first time having outstanding lap times of below 47 seconds. Thanks to the students hard work, one team made it to the next heat in Kent; the other team narrowingly missing out on a place.
At Buckmore Park in Kent, the students were outstanding with results ranging from 2nd to 7th in the 6 races. Sadly we missed out on qualifying to the final in June by 1 point. We achieved 81 points and 7th position out of 17 teams.
It has been a fantastic year for the students and we would like to recognise the hours of practice that has taken place on a Friday evening come rain or shine. They really did DPHS proud
I’m already looking forward to next year’s competition
